Your Marrakech to Chefchaouen tour begins with a warm welcome at Marrakech airport or your hotel. Your local guide is there to greet you and will be with you throughout the entire journey. The drive heads south through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, with breathtaking views of the landscape along the way. A stop in Aït Ben Haddou gives you time to visit the famous kasbah — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in productions including The Mummy and Prince of Persia. Take your time exploring its remarkable architecture and historic details. After lunch, the route continues to Ouarzazate — the Hollywood of Africa and the gateway to the desert. You can choose to visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco, for a fascinating look behind the scenes of famous movie sets. From there, the drive heads to Dades Valley where extraordinary rock formations known as "monkey fingers" line the gorge. Take in the panoramic views before checking into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
After breakfast, a scenic drive along the Todra River through lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages takes you to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge in Tinghir — one of the most spectacular canyons on earth. From there, the journey continues toward the Merzouga desert. On the road to Erg Chebbi, your driver-guide may suggest a stop at a traditional Berber shop where you can try on a Berber outfit and take photographs for free. It is a wonderful way to connect with Berber culture. There is no pressure to purchase anything — just let your guide know if you would prefer to move on. Arriving in Merzouga, an unforgettable camel ride into the desert awaits. Watch the stunning sunset over the dunes and try sandboarding on the way down. Retreat to a luxury desert camp for dinner and spend the night immersed in the timeless magic of the Saharan night sky.
an early start is recommended to catch the sunrise over Erg Chebbi's dunes. After breakfast, you can choose between a camel ride or a 4x4 to head back to Merzouga town before the long drive north to Fes begins. Along the way, the route passes through the scenic Ziz Valley, a cedar forest near Azrou where Barbary apes roam freely among the trees, and the charming town of Ifrane — often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine-style architecture. By late afternoon, you arrive in Fes and check into your riad in the historic medina.
Begin the day with breakfast at your riad before your local Fes guide arrives to lead you through the extraordinary medina. Discover its historic alleyways, delve into its remarkable history, and admire the stunning architecture. Lunch in the vibrant medina, sampling authentic local flavours. In the afternoon, the drive heads to Chefchaouen — the blue pearl of Morocco. On arrival, check into a charming riad in the heart of the town. This serene and picturesque retreat gives you the chance to settle in and absorb the unique atmosphere of Chefchaouen before the final day of exploration.
Start your final day with breakfast at your riad and spend the morning freely exploring the beautiful streets of Chefchaouen. Stroll through the narrow blue-washed alleys, browse the lively markets, or relax at a cafe on the central square. In the afternoon, the drive heads to Tangier where your driver drops you at the airport, the port, or your hotel — marking the end of your Marrakech to Chefchaouen desert tour. Please note the tour can also end in Fes, Casablanca, or return to Marrakech.

"This tour covered everything we wanted from Morocco in five extraordinary days. The camel trek into the Sahara on day two was breathtaking and the night at the desert camp was pure magic. Exploring Fes medina with our local guide on day four brought the ancient city to life in ways we never expected. And arriving in Chefchaouen on the final morning — those blue streets are even more beautiful in person than in photographs. Flawlessly organised by Across Morocco Travel from beginning to end."
"We could not have asked for a better way to experience Morocco. The itinerary flowed perfectly — the desert, the ancient medina, and the blue city each felt like a completely different world. Our driver-guide was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about Morocco. The luxury desert camp far exceeded our expectations. We are already recommending Across Morocco Travel to everyone we know."
"Five days and five completely different experiences — the mountains, the Sahara, the medina of Fes, and finally the blue streets of Chefchaouen. This tour covered everything without ever feeling rushed. The desert sunrise on day three was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. Our guide was exceptional throughout. An unforgettable trip."
