Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Gorges
Your tour begins with a morning pickup from your Marrakech accommodation. The drive heads south-east through the High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages perched on cliffsides and stopping at the best panoramic viewpoints along the way. Lunch is in Aït Ben Haddou, where you explore the ancient fortified kasbah — a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 that has served as a backdrop for Gladiator, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. The route continues through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses toward Dades Gorges. On arrival, if time allows, a visit to the extraordinary "monkey toes" rock formations before heading to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Dades Gorges → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, the drive follows the Todra River through palm groves and Berber villages to Tinghir. A walk beneath the 300-metre canyon walls of the Todra Gorge — one of the most dramatic landscapes in Morocco — before pushing on toward the desert. Your camel is waiting at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in the afternoon. Ride out as the afternoon light turns the sand from gold to deep red, stopping on a high dune for the full Saharan sunset and trying sandboarding on the way down. Your luggage travels ahead by 4x4. The camp welcomes you with mint tea, dinner, Berber drumming, and a night sky packed with stars.
Full day exploring the Merzouga desert
Wake early and climb the nearest dune to watch the Saharan sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, a 4x4 takes you out for a full day in the desert. First a visit to a Nomadic Berber family living beyond the dunes — your guide translates and shares insights into a way of life that has barely changed in centuries. The morning continues to the hidden abandoned village of Mefis, then to Khamlia where local Gnawa musicians perform traditional music, and a stop at the Lake of Birds if conditions allow. After lunch, you check into your riad in Merzouga — time to rest, swim if available, or take a leisurely walk to the nearby dunes. Dinner at the riad. You also have the option to spend this second night at the desert camp if you prefer.
Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Middle Atlas → Ifrane → Fes
Breakfast at your riad, then the long drive north to Fes begins. The route heads through the Ziz Valley with a panoramic stop overlooking the vast palm oasis below. Lunch in Midelt or along the way. The road climbs into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where Barbary apes move through the trees — a brief stop to watch them. A coffee break in Ifrane before the final stretch into Fes, arriving in the late afternoon. Your driver drops you at your riad in the Medina.

What if I don't want to ride a camel?
No problem — we transfer you to the desert camp by 4x4 at no extra charge. Your comfort always comes first.
Do the desert camps have private bathrooms?
Yes — every camp in our selection is a luxury camp with private en-suite bathrooms and showers. We never book basic shared-bathroom camps.
What vehicle will we travel in?
A3: Smaller groups travel in a Toyota Land Cruiser or similar 4x4. Larger groups use a Ford Tourneo Custom or Mercedes Sprinter minibus. All vehicles are private, air-conditioned, and chosen for comfort on long driving days.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks ahead, particularly during peak season (March–May and September–November). Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible — just WhatsApp us to check availability.
How does payment work?
A small deposit confirms your booking, payable via PayPal, bank transfer, or Wise. The remaining balance is settled in cash on the first day — in euros, US dollars, or Moroccan dirhams.
