Marrakech → High Atlas → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
We pick you up from your Marrakech riad or hotel at 8:00 AM and head south-east through the High Atlas Mountains. Your driver-guide stops at the most scenic viewpoints along the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, and you are welcome to request stops at any point throughout the day. Lunch is in the village of Aït Ben Haddou, where you also explore the ancient fortified kasbah — a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 that has served as a film set for Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, and Gladiator. A short stop in Ouarzazate follows, where you can view the exterior of Atlas Studios — the largest film studio in Africa. The route then continues through Boumalne and the Valley of Roses toward Dades Valley. If time allows, a visit to the extraordinary "monkey fingers" rock formations in Dades Gorge before arriving at your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Dades Valley → Tinghir Oasis → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast at your hotel, the drive heads east toward Tinghir. A stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooks the Tinghir oasis — a carpet of palm trees and centuries-old kasbahs stretching through the valley below. From there, a walk beneath the towering cliffs of the Todra Gorge, where the canyon narrows to just a few metres wide and the walls rise 300 metres on either side. The road then opens into desert country as we push toward Merzouga. Your camel is waiting at the edge of the dunes in the afternoon. Ride out into Erg Chebbi as the light turns from gold to deep red, pausing on a high dune ridge to watch the full Saharan sunset. Your luggage travels ahead by 4x4. At the camp, mint tea and a warm welcome await — followed by dinner, Berber drumming around the campfire, and a night sky blazing with stars.
Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Middle Atlas → Ifrane → Fes
Rise early for the Saharan sunrise — the last morning in the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you return to Merzouga town by camel or 4x4, then the long drive north to Fes begins. The route passes through the Ziz Valley with a panoramic stop overlooking the vast palm oasis below. Further north, the road climbs into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas near Ifrane — keep your eyes open for Barbary apes moving through the trees. A short stop in Ifrane, sometimes called the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine architecture, before the final stretch into Fes. You are dropped at your accommodation in the late afternoon.

What if I don't want to ride a camel?
No problem — we transfer you to the desert camp by 4x4 at no extra charge. Your comfort always comes first.
Do the desert camps have private bathrooms?
Yes — every camp in our selection is a luxury camp with private en-suite bathrooms and showers inside each tent. We never book basic shared-bathroom camps.
What vehicle will we travel in?
Smaller groups travel in a Toyota Land Cruiser or similar 4x4. Larger groups use a Ford Tourneo Custom or Mercedes Sprinter minibus. All vehicles are private, air-conditioned, and chosen for comfort on long driving days.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance, particularly during peak season (March–May and September–November). Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible — just WhatsApp us to check availability.
How does payment work?
A small deposit confirms your booking, payable via PayPal, bank transfer, or Wise. The remaining balance is settled in cash on the first day of the tour — in euros, US dollars, or Moroccan dirhams.
