Start your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech with an 8:00 am pick-up from your riad or wherever you are staying in Marrakech. We head south, journeying through the High Atlas Mountains and reaching a high point called the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which sits at 2,260 metres (7,415 feet) above sea level. Along the way we stop to admire some charming Berber villages. We then make our way to the legendary Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou — an ancient fortified village famous for its one-of-a-kind Moroccan architecture. Numerous world-famous productions were filmed on location here, including Kingdom of Heaven in 2005, Babel in 2006, Prince of Persia in 2010, Game of Thrones in 2012, and the documentary David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet in 2020. You will have ample time to discover and explore this remarkable historic site. Following a delicious lunch, we continue south along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward the Dadès Valley, driving through Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M'Gouna. Upon reaching the Dadès Valley in the afternoon, we will take you to see the extraordinary rock formations known as the monkey fingers if time allows. If not, we will save this visit for the following morning. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel of your choice.
We kick off the second day of your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with a satisfying breakfast. We then set off toward Tinerhir, pausing at a scenic viewpoint with beautiful views over traditional Berber villages and a lush palm tree-filled oasis. Just nearby stands the magnificent Todra Gorge — a towering 300-metre-high canyon. We will walk through this breathtaking gorge before continuing our journey toward the Merzouga desert. As we arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, your camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes gets underway. During this unforgettable ride, you will stop on a high dune to witness a spectacular sunset over the golden sand sea of Erg Chebbi. You will then continue riding camels to the camp, where you are welcomed with a warm cup of mint tea. Enjoy some free time to relax and take in the surroundings. After a wonderful Moroccan dinner, settle around a campfire with your Berber hosts, who will play drums and share stories beneath the magical starry night sky. You will spend the night in a luxury desert camp of your choice.
We highly recommend waking up early today to watch a breathtaking sunrise from the nearest high dune to the camp. After a delicious breakfast, you can return to Merzouga town either by camel or by comfortable 4x4 vehicle. From there we begin the journey back to Marrakech, this time taking a completely different route along the Draa River — Morocco's longest river, stretching 1,100 kilometres. Your driver will happily stop whenever you wish along the way. We break for lunch in Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains and arriving back in Marrakech, where we drop you directly at your accommodation — marking the end of your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech.

"An absolutely unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our guide was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Morocco. The desert camp was stunning — private tent, proper bathroom, incredible food. Watching the sunrise from the dunes on Day 3 was one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Cannot recommend Across Morocco Travel highly enough."
"We did the 3-day private tour as a couple and it exceeded every expectation. The route through the High Atlas was breathtaking, Aït Ben Haddou was magical, and the Sahara — wow. Our driver Brahim knew everyone along the way and made us feel like we were travelling with a friend, not a tour company. Already planning our next Morocco trip with them."
"We travelled as a family with three young children and Across Morocco Travel handled every detail perfectly. The kids loved the camel ride and are still talking about the desert camp six months later. Patient, flexible, professional — and genuinely wonderful people. This is exactly how Morocco should be experienced."
