The 7-day Morocco itinerary begins with a warm welcome at Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel in Casablanca. The first stop is the Hassan II Mosque — one of the most remarkable architectural achievements in Morocco, with intricate tile work, carved marble, and dramatic ocean views. From there the road heads to Rabat — the capital of Morocco — where the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas are worth exploring for their rich history and beautiful craftsmanship. The day ends at your accommodation in Rabat. Note: if arriving late at night, transfer goes directly to the hotel in Casablanca for rest before the tour begins the following morning.
After breakfast at your hotel or riad in Rabat, the drive north to Chefchaouen begins. The journey passes through rolling hills and picturesque villages in the Rif Mountain foothills. Arriving in Chefchaouen, you check into your riad and the afternoon is yours. The famous blue-painted streets and alleys of the Medina are best explored at your own pace — wandering through the narrow lanes, browsing the local souks, and sitting at a cafe with fresh mint tea and Moroccan pastries. One of the most photogenic towns in the world — bring a fully charged camera.
After breakfast at the riad, a scenic drive through the Rif villages begins the day. The first major stop is Volubilis — one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in North Africa. The ancient mosaics, temple columns, and triumphal arch date back to the 3rd century — a genuinely extraordinary place. From Volubilis the road continues to Meknes — a 17th-century imperial city that once served as Morocco's capital. The Bab el Mansour gate is one of the most impressive in the country, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail is a significant religious site worth visiting. Lunch in Meknes before the final stretch to Fes, where a beautiful riad in the heart of the old city is waiting for the night.
Today belongs entirely to Fes — Morocco's cultural and religious capital. A knowledgeable local guide leads the full-day exploration of the city. The tour begins at the golden gate of the Royal Palace before heading into the UNESCO-listed Medina — a maze of ancient alleyways packed with centuries of history. Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chouara Tanneries are all part of the walk. The Jewish quarter — the Mellah — follows with its own distinct heritage. The day ends at an ancient fortress with a panoramic view over the entire city before returning to the riad.
After breakfast at the riad, the drive south toward Merzouga begins. A quick stop in Ifrane — a picturesque mountain town with a cooler climate — breaks the journey before continuing through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where Barbary macaques can be spotted. Lunch is at a restaurant along the route. The Ziz Valley — a lush palm oasis — signals the approach of the desert. Arriving in the afternoon, a camel guide is waiting at the edge of Erg Chebbi. The ride into the dunes pauses on a high dune for the full Saharan sunset before arriving at the luxury desert camp. Dinner is followed by a campfire evening — Berber drumming, traditional music, and a sky blazing with stars. Guests can even try playing the drums themselves.
An early wake-up is highly recommended today — a sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes is worth every early alarm. After breakfast, the return to Merzouga is by camel or 4x4 — your choice. The drive heads toward Dades Gorge via Rissani, where a traditional Moroccan souk is running if the day falls on a Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday. The Todra River then guides the route to Tinghir where a walk through the Todra Gorge — with its towering cliffs and flowing river — is one of the most dramatic natural moments of the entire tour. The day ends at Dades Gorge with a panoramic drive through the valley and views of the famous monkey fingers rock formations before checking into the hotel for the night.
On the final day of the 7-day Morocco itinerary, the drive heads toward Ouarzazate — known as the Hollywood of Africa and the gateway to the desert. An optional visit to Atlas Studios gives a look at famous film sets and the movie-making process up close. From there the road leads to the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah — a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring the kasbah and a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant, the High Atlas Mountains are crossed with stops for breathtaking panoramic views along the way. Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon — the 7-day Morocco itinerary comes to an end with a drop-off at your accommodation.
